What it is:
- Chen Chang Yin Ma Hua, commonly known as Chen Mahua (Fried Dough Twists), with its crispy and unique taste has become the symbol of the ancient town of Ciqikou in Chongqing.
- Chen Mahua has successively won the titles of "Chinese Famous Snacks", "Chongqing Specialties", and "Chongqing Famous Snacks". Chen Mahua is the favorite street snack of many Chinese in their childhoods and remains so even after they grow up and leave home.
Why it's unique:
- Chen Chang Yin is the only local traditional food brand in Chongqing City that has gained both titles of "Chongqing Intangible Cultural Heritage" and "Chongqing Time-honored Brand".
This fried twist is hand-made and has the characteristics of Chen Mahua: fragrant, crispy, and crumbly in the mouth. This taste can never be replicated by machine-made products. It's also less oily and greasy and aligns with people's needs for healthy food today.
